Suitable for Smoke Control Areas

Suitable for Smoke Control Areas

The Clean Air Acts of 1956 and 1968 were introduced to deal with smog created by the widespread burning of coal for domestic and industrial purposes. The Acts gave local authorities the power to limit emissions of smoke and fumes from industrial premises and to declare "smoke control areas" in which emissions of smoke from domestic properties are limited.

Dovre has a range of stoves and fires that are exempt from smoke control areas as they are highly efficient, clean burning and produce very little smoke at all.

For safety reasons, care should always be taken that these exempt appliances (including flues and chimneys) are installed and maintained correctly. Only fuel which the appliance has been designed for should be used.

For more information on smoke control areas visit the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs web site or contact your local Dovre retailer.
